      46-216.   "Compensation" defined. "Compensation" means any money, thing of value, or economic benefit conferred on, or received by, any person in return for services rendered, or to be rendered, by such person or another.

Governmental Ethics Commission Opinions:

      Whether state lottery employee can give a testimonial to manufacturer of products sold to state lottery is a decision to be made by the lottery agency; permissibility or travel expense provided by manufacturer to state employee depends on policy decision regarding testimonial. 94-26.

      State employee with duties which include teaching certain courses; compensation by others than state agency for teaching courses during off-duty hours. 97-13.

Attorney General's Opinions:

      Bribery; privatization pledge; contingent fees for lobbying prohibited. 91-23.

      Authority for determining compensation of hospital board members vested in county commissioners but hospital board may contract with hospital administrator. 1999-46.
