Searching Quick Statistics

For results, enter all data or any part thereof (it is best to limit your request as much as possible, i.e., Last Name Wilson, and check a report year).

Results:    Data per candidate - Candidate name, district/office, party affiliation, whether or not an incumbent, results of Primary and General Election, whether or not the candidate has an “Affidavit of Exemption from Filing Receipts and Expenditures Reports” on file, report number, beginning balance for this report, total amounts per category for monetary and in-kind contributions and expenditures, as well as a grand total for monetary and in-kind contributions and expenditures.

Search By:

      Candidate Name:

            a.   Candidate Last Name - enter complete or part of candidate’s last name (example: “W” will get an alphabetical list of all candidates whose last name starts with a “W”, while “Wil” will get all candidates whose last name starts with “Wil”).

             b.    Candidate First Name - due to nicknames, it is best to leave this section blank or just enter the first letter of the candidate’s first name.

      District/Office:

Leave blank or enter district number (for Statewide, select an office from the drop-down menu). You will pull up all candidates who ran for that district/office if you enter only the district number.

      Report Year:

Due to the amount of data in this database, it is best to choose a year. When clicking on year with no other entries made, the result will provide an alphabetical list of all candidate “Quick statistics” for all Receipts and Expenditures Reports.

Searching Itemized Contributions

For results, enter all data or any part thereof (due to the size of this database, it is best to limit your request as much as possible, as well as selecting a time period - example: enter Doe for Candidate Last Name and choose from Select dates to include the 2006 Primary Election Cycle).

Please note: A scanned copy of each state candidate’s Receipts and Expenditures Report is available for the 2006 and 2008 current election cycle at: http://www.kansas.gov/ethics/FiledRptsFrmsHm.htm. By checking “Contribution detail”, you will be provided with the page number and report number the data came from on the candidate’s Receipts and Expenditures Report.

Results: Data per candidate sorted first by Candidate name in alphabetical order, date contribution received, contributor names in alphabetical order, amount, and candidate name. With “Contribution detail” checked, you also receive the report number, page number, whether the contribution was monetary or in-kind, category and contributor state.
